Welcome to Life Changes On Main
(A blog for women growing tomatoes, sanity, and maybe themselves)
Well hello there, friend.
If you’ve found your way here, chances are life has recently taken a turn.
Maybe a big one.
Maybe a quiet one that no one else seemed to notice—but you sure did.
Maybe you woke up one day and thought, “Is this it? Is this all I get?”
And then maybe you decided—out of instinct or desperation or sheer rebellion—that it was time to start taking care of yourself. Like actually taking care.
If that sounds familiar, welcome. You’re not too late. You’re not too broken.
You’re just ready for something real.
Why This Blog Exists
This blog isn’t about turning your life into a Pinterest board.
It’s not about becoming a full-time farm goddess with chickens that wear bonnets.
(Unless you’re into that. In which case: do you, queen.)
Life Changes On Main exists because healing takes time—and tools.
Because growing a tomato can feel like growing a tiny miracle.
Because boiling a jar of jam can feel like control in a world that forgot how to give you any.
Because food, dirt, and effort can help you remember who you are—without needing a diagnosis or a ten-step morning routine.
This is about healing in the garden, in the kitchen, and deep in the quiet corners of your soul.
It’s for women 40 and up who’ve seen some things.
And now want to plant some things.
What You’ll Find Here
Think of this blog as your cozy digital front porch.
On it, we’ll talk about things like:
- What to grow when you’re tired, sad, or sick of everyone’s advice
- How to feed yourself with meals that won’t judge you for using canned beans
- Preserving food (and your peace) one tiny jar at a time
- Learning new self-reliant skills without losing your mind
- Starting again. Even when it’s awkward.
You Might Be in the Right Place If…
- You’ve ever cried in the garden center
- You want to take care of yourself but don’t know where to start
- You secretly dream of a pantry that makes you feel rich in the ways that matter
- You’d like your healing to feel a little more useful and a little less talky
- You’re tired of being tired—and you’d rather be tired from good work than bad worry
Let’s Start Small (Like, Really Small)
You don’t need five acres. Or five hours. Or five perfect planters from Instagram.
You need:
- A little dirt
- A little time
- A little stubborn hope
- And maybe a recipe that doesn’t require seventeen ingredients and a second mortgage
Let’s start with that.
So What Now?
Keep showing up. Read what you need. Leave what you don’t.
This blog is here to remind you that you’re not the only one rebuilding, replanting, or rethinking everything.
Here, life doesn’t have to look perfect to be yours.
You’re allowed to make messes, start over, and grow slowly.
You are allowed to take your healing into your own hands—soil-stained as they may be.
Welcome to Life Changes On Main.
The kettle’s on. The weeds can wait. You’ve got a new chapter to grow.
With dirt under my nails and a smirk on my face,
Your new friend, Kathy
